Soubor kombinuje autoportrét, fragment těla, krajinu i zátiší.

On the Edge of Balance is a long-term introspective photographic work that arises from the need to pause and to search again for a balance between tension and calm. It is rooted in the experience of prolonged inner pressure and a gradual loss of equilibrium, which comes subtly and often goes unnoticed.
The series combines self-portrait, fragments of the body, landscape, and still life. The images are not illustrations of specific situations, but rather visual traces of states that are difficult to name — tension, fragmentation, fatigue, silence, and attempts to slow down. They carry within them traces
of decisions, hesitation, falls, and small returns. Here, photography serves as a means of attention and pause, as a space in which the process of seeking balance can be observed.
The work is not complete; it continues to evolve alongside my gradual learning to slow down, to listen to the signals of my own body, and to reconsider my relationship to performance and constant self-imposed pressure. It does not capture a single turning point, but rather a state in which anyone may find themselves when they long ignore their own limits.
On the Edge of Balance is also a broader reflection on a time that often prioritises performance over rest and productivity over the awareness of one’s own needs. It reminds us that losing balance is not a failure, but a signal. That slowing down is not a weakness. And that no level of performance is worth losing ourselves.
